[2020 Updated] SMOK G-Priv 3 Starter Kit Review: An All-Round Upgrade

The SMOK G-Priv 3 Starter Kit is the latest rendition to the very popular G-PRIV series, which has been upgraded in both hardware and software. It features a dual 18650 battery with various coil options for the different vaping experience. The new SMOK TFV16 Lite Sub-Ohm Tank brings you the huge and flavorful vapor.

The profile design of the SMOK G-Priv 3 Kit has not changed too much. It looks similar to G-Priv and original G-Priv. The chassis is constructed from the sturdy zinc alloy with a magnetic panel. The intelligent IQ-G Chipset offers the variable wattage range from 1 to 230W at 0.001s fast speed and delivers excellent flavor. It also features a quick 2A charging rate.

The new SMOK TFV16 Lite Sub-ohm Tank on the threaded 510 pin, has 5ml large juice capacity and is compatible with SMOK TFV16 Coil Series for the flavorful and massive cloud. The top fill system with a rubber plug makes filling a breeze. There is a locking button to avoid accidental leakage in your pocket. The higher base of the SMOK TFV16 Lite Tank provides more airflow for huge vapor and intense flavor.

The general shape and profile of the SMOK G-Priv 3 Starter Kit have not changed too much. The only noticeable difference is on the back of the mod, which is much bolder than its predecessors. The bright resin-like panel on the back is flanked by a large G-PRIV 3 icon. The combination of the fancy pattern and color look attractive and stylish.

The SMOK G-Priv 3 measures at 85mm by 54mm by 28mm. The chassis is made of durable zinc alloy and the panels are made of high-quality acrylic. The edges are smooth and nicely beveled, making it feel comfortable in your hand. The bright, full-color touch screen is responsive and easy to operate. It is more user-friendly and enables a password lock. The SMOK G-Priv 3 takes dual 18650 layouts with the 2A, USB-C onboard charging. It allows an impressive power range from 1W to 230W, with a resistance range from 0.1ohm to 2.5ohm for different vaping styles.

The SMOK TFV16 Lite Sub-Ohm Tank measures at 28mm diameter and is made of strong 304 stainless steel. Featuring a bubble glass, it can hold 5ml maximum e-liquid. The top filling system with an innovative locking button makes filling a breeze without leaking. There are two coils in the kit - a 0.2ohm TFV16 Lite conical mesh coil and 0.15ohm TFV16 Lite dual mesh coil. Both of the coils boast an advanced plug ‘N’ play and provide flavorful and huge cloud.

The upgraded IQ-G chip makes its debut on the SMOK G-Priv 3 Kit, allowing for a lot of new features. Powered by the dual 18650 battery, the SMOK G-Priv 3 has the maximum output of 230W, which is one of the most efficient devices. The batteries can be fully charged via USB-C port with a 5V/2A charging rate. The new IQ-G chip improves the settings and adds a few new features. The preset power level function incorporates four different ramp-up modes to choose from. The G-Priv 3 Mod supports an entire day vaping, which has outclassed its predecessors again.

The full-color touchscreen has been enlarged to 2.4inch, which is an ideal size. The screen approximately measures at 32mm by 53mm and is extremely responsive. The UI design is sensible and easy to read. The extremely responsive fire bar and operations still remain complete. The screen interface features a ‘rev counter’ design in the center combined with a puff timer and wattage. The resistance, voltage and puff counter is at the bottom and the power adjustment buttons are above those. The top of the interface displays the menu button, screen lock icon, and battery indicators. On the home screen, there are 3 buttons - power up, power down and menu button. You can also change the theme color from blue, purple, yellow, red, white and green.

The SMOK G-Priv 3 Mod also has two buttons - a fire button and a side button, which feature a nice size and are easy to press. The side button above the fire button is used to lock, activate and hide the screen.

The SMOK TFV16 Lite Tank has a similar profile to other TFV tanks. Constructed from sturdy stainless steel, the SMOK TFV16 Lite is solid and can hold 5ml juice capacity. The upgraded airflow system with a high base ensures enough airflow intake for the better vaping experience. The top filling design is a hinged swinging system with a locking button to prevent leaking. The 810 resin drip tip is removable and extremely tight.

The SMOK G-Priv 3 Starter Kit also comes with two coils - a 0.2ohm mesh coil rated at 60 - 85W and a 0.15ohm dual mesh coil. The 0.2ohm coil powered by nexMesh technology features the conical shape, which maximum the bottom airflow. The 0.15ohm dual mesh coil is made of nickel-chrome, is the better coil while not growing with the wattage as much as the Single.
