SMOK RPM Lite is the latest rendition to the popular RPM series of AIO pod mods by SMOK. The original SMOK RPM40 was the first pod mod available on the market. The brand new RPM Lite is a more compact and lighter version of the RPM40 but has similar styling of the RPM80.
The profile of the RPM Lite isn’t just a carbon copy of the RPM80, it's been re-designed with a surprisingly lightweight and small body. The RPM Lite powered by a built-in 1250mAh battery is capable of up to 40W with fully adjustable wattage. The IQ-R chip which is exactly the same as the RPM40 controls the whole device and enables instant-firing time. The kit comes with two coils, featuring the option of both DTL and MTL vape. The extensive coil compatibility is always a bonus for you to enjoy different vaping experience.
I have tested the previous RPM devices in the past, and they have been strong performers. Keep reading the review to find out if the new RPM Lite follows in the footsteps and decide which is best for you.

Build Quality and Design of SMOK RPM Lite
The SMOK RPM Lite is a pretty smaller device compared to the original RPM40. It only weighs 50g and stands 75mm, which fits your palm perfectly and slips into your pocket easily. The RPM Lite has a streamlined four-sided shape and stands like an elongated cube. It may not be officially rugged but is quite well built. The edges are nicely rounded off, making the device comfortable to hold.
The RPM Lite looks so much like the RPM80 regards to the aesthetic design and build quality. the large and non-adjustable airflow slot on the front right under the cartridge is the only airflow intake on the device. You should be careful not to cover the airflow slot with your thumb when vaping. The fire button is clicky and well-placed, which has left enough space to fit a 0.96-inch large TFT display. The adjustment buttons joined together are easy to operate. The RPM Lite comes in five options, which have different colors of side panels. There is no special edition.
SMOK RPM Lite Mod
The RPM Lite feels more like a full-fledged mod. It is driven by an internal 1250mAh battery and the battery life is depends on the power output you set. The advanced IQ-R chip allows for an instant firing time of 0.0015s and provides multiple safety protections. The large airflow slot on the front of the device is non-adjustable. It’s clear that the airflow depends on the coil you install into the pod.
The 0.96-inch TFT screen is nicely positioned and blends into the rest of the device. It is bright and easy to read even in daylight. It displays your important vaping data like battery life, wattage output, coil resistance, voltage, puff counter. You can also adjust the text color, represented on the bottom of the display.
As far as operation goes, it is pretty straightforward and easy to use.
Quick Guide of SMOK RPM Lite:
- Press the fire button five times to turn on or turn off the device
- Adjust wattage via the adjustment buttons between 1W to 40W
- Press the fire button three times to lock or unlock the device
- Press fire and plus buttons to change the text color
- Press fire and minus buttons to reset the puff count

SMOK RPM Lite Pod and RPM Coils
The SMOK RPM Lite pod is held in place with two strong magnets. It is replaceable, and you can simply pull it out of the device. The pod comes with a round non-replaceable drip tip, which is comfortable between lips. The rubber fill plug is on the side of the pod, which opens up like a door for filling with e-juice. The pod is lightly tinted, you can easily view the juice level. Installing or replacing the coils is very easy due to the plug and play design. I have had no issues with leaks during testing.
How to Fill the Pod:
- Pull out the pod from the device
- Remove the rubber plug to reveal the filling port
- Fill with your desired e-liquid
- Close the plug and wait at lease 5min to get the coil fully saturatedText
The SMOK RPM Lite is compatible with all of the RPM coils including an RBA deck, which is great if you want to build your own coil. The kit comes with two coil options in the package:
- A 0.4ohm RPM mesh coil rated for 25W
- A 0.8ohm RPM MTL DC coil rated for 16W
Performance:
The 0.4ohm mesh coil works well at the recommended wattage of 25W. The flavor is pure and intense. The vapor production is very impressive, which is not far from what you get from a sub-ohm tank. It is amazing that a small device is delivering a flavorful vape and surprisingly dense cloud. The 0.8ohm DC coil offers a good throat hit. The 16W recommended wattage offers the optimal flavor and vapor. The MTL draw is a bit airy due to non-adjustable airflow.
SMOK RPM Lite Review
The RPM Lite is another great pod mod kit from SMOK. It is a smaller and lighter version of the very popular RPM40. It performs excellently, the decent cloud chucking DTL experience is very impressive. The RPM pod packs the intense flavor and dense vapor. The 1250mAh built-in battery is not large but enough for an entire day vape with moderate usage.
If you are looking for a more compact and portable device, the RPM Lite is well worth taking a look at.
