Vaping technology has seen a lot of improvement over the past decade. It has gone from the use of the first E-cigs which is the first ego cigar-like vaping technology with a single-use tank, to a full-on box mod equipped with a touchscreen and Bluetooth technology. These pod devices have been in the market for several years now and are evolving and advancing.
Which brings us to the SMOK RPM40, a pod device that is so incredibly powerful it can reasonably be used to vape sub-ohm freebase nicotine as well as salt nic. It represents a new brand of vape pod that offers flavor which is incomparable with previous pods.
Are you becoming doubtful of its functions in the long run? Your doubts would be cleared below!
The Looks
I was quite surprised the first day I got the SMOK RPM 40 because of its unique shape and size. I was expecting to see a device like a SMOK stick or small box mod but was amazed to see a smaller and lighter version of these, having a 1500 mAh battery with charger.
The pod is less than 100mm long and 25mm wide, which makes it a contender in the family of mini sub-ohm devices like the tarot nano. It comes in various colors which gives you the choice of having your favorite color in your vape pod. There are 4 carbon fiber variants and 4 splash resin designs that will thrill you into buying the device.
On its front is a TFT color screen where all vaping details are shown such as the puff counter and current wattage which is shown in LED characters. You will enjoy the cuboid shape of this device from SMOK with its slightly rounded corners. Its edges are beveled, which makes it possible for the RPM40 pod to sit comfortably during a lengthy vaping session with no fuss.
How it Works
The RPM40 manufactured by SMOK has become my choice and the most potent pod that I have ever used. One can even utilize its 1500mAh to push the device all the way to 40w with no effects whatsoever. The pod is perfect in every way, from its flavor, cloud production to its incredible 4ml plus E-Liquid capacity with a long battery life that can be recharged using the charger for its batteries.
The new mesh coils attached to the RPM is perfect in flavor production to the extent that I was throwing MAX VG oil on it to see if it will be clogged. There was no such thing as the coil lasted for about 1 to 2 weeks before I could notice any burnt taste from it.
The RPM40 has become my favorite device for vaping because I can get the amount of flavor and nicotine from it just like that of a full-size box mod, which is quite big for a pod device that small. Also, carrying around a box mod is quite awkward, but I can now carry the RPM in my pocket with its weight of a 21700mAh battery without feeling any discomfort. It also comes with safety features like the standard 7 seconds cut-off time and power lock so that it doesn't light up in your pocket.
Cons and Verdict
Apart from the benefits mentioned above of using the RPM40 by SMOK, there are some issues which I need to point out.
A slight bit of spit back was noticed while using it at the highest wattage. Though it performs greatly, its Nord coils burn quicker while using it in high voltage coupled with a little bit of leakage in the coils.
Despite these faults, if I'm to choose a vape device, I will still choose the RPM40. It can be used for salt nic, sub-ohm and discrete vaping.
Think of it, where can I get a 40w pod that tastes better than most sub-ohm tanks? SMOK is the answer as they have genuinely changed the world of vaping with their RPM40, which lasts longer than most pod devices.
